Maleny Cottages
The demand for luxury cottage accommodation over the recent years has exploded. A thriving national economy means that on one hand people have a little more money to spend, and on the other, are working longer hours to get it. The idea of ‘getting away from it all’ and getting some personal time alone to relax away from their work has really become something that people have taken to heart. And with good reason, their health and wellbeing.
A decade ago, the natural instinct for holiday makers was to head for the ocean. Images of palm-fringed sandy beaches and couples sipping pina coladas was the staple of tourism advertising in the early nineties but things have opened up significantly, with the tranquility of a mountain escape high on the wish lists of travellers. Many seek out small, private cottages to completely remove themselves from work and technology and get back to basics. They switch off their mobile phones ( or leave them behind ) and try to focus on their partners or themselves and just take in the beauty of the area, and the peace and quiet of being so far away from the everyday.
Part of the appeal of the Sunshine Coast hinterland precinct, is the liberal amount of real choice when it comes to where to stay and the overall high level of quality when it comes to choosing a cottage. Most in the region are run by local couples who really take the time to ensure their guests get the most relaxing and comfortable stay possible.
Packages can be for a weekend or for three nights or longer, and are usually cheaper if you can arrange to go midweek when the bookings are in less demand. The cottages are built from solid timber and most establishments provide a cozy fireplace to curl up in front of during the colder winter months. The temperatures in Maleny can get quite chilly!
